Proportional image scaling
Percentage resizing changes width and height by the same factor. A 50% resize turns a 2000 × 1200 image into 1000 × 600. The pixel area becomes one quarter of the original because both dimensions are halved.
Making an image larger
A percentage above 100 enlarges the image. The canvas becomes larger, but the browser must interpolate existing pixels, so the result may look softer than the original.
