Reduce dimensions first
A smaller width and height mean fewer pixels to store. If a 4000-pixel-wide photo is only displayed at 1200 pixels, resizing it closer to the display size can remove unnecessary data.
Choose the right format
JPG and WebP are often smaller for photographs. PNG is better when you need transparency or crisp lossless graphics, but may be much larger for a photo.
Adjust quality carefully
For JPG and WebP output, lower the quality gradually and preview the result. Stop when fine details, edges, or text begin to look visibly damaged.
Resize.Tools reports the output file size after processing so you can compare it with the original before downloading.
